Perfect Eggs and Bacon Recipe

This is a great breakfast, especially on the weekend. You fry bacon on a skillet, then after the bacon is crispy, fry eggs in the bacon grease. Garnish your plate with toast or fruit.

What Is Eggs And Bacon?

Eggs and bacon is a classic breakfast combination popular in many countries, especially in the United States and the UK. It typically consists of:

  • Eggs: These can be cooked in a variety of ways, such as scrambled, fried, poached, or boiled. The type of preparation often depends on personal preference.
  • Bacon: Strips of pork belly that are cured and then fried, baked, or grilled until crispy. Bacon adds a savory and slightly salty flavor to the meal.

This simple dish is loved for its savory, protein-rich profile and is often served with additional items like toast, hash browns, or fruit. Eggs and bacon are commonly eaten as a hearty breakfast, but some people enjoy it any time of the day.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 strips of bacon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp butter or cooking oil (optional, for eggs)
  • Toast or hash browns (optional side)

Instructions:

For the Bacon:

  1. Cook in a Skillet:
    • Place the bacon strips in a cold skillet. Turn the heat to medium.
    • Cook, flipping occasionally, until crispy and golden brown (about 8-10 minutes).
    • Remove the bacon and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

    Alternative: Oven Method

    • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
    • Place bacon strips on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until crispy.
    • Remove and drain on paper towels.

For the Eggs:

You can cook the eggs any style you like (scrambled, fried, poached, etc.). Here’s how to fry them:

  1. Fry the Eggs:
    • After cooking the bacon, remove most of the grease from the skillet, leaving about 1-2 teaspoons for flavor (or use fresh butter/oil).
    • Crack two eggs into the skillet over medium heat.
    • Cook for 2-3 minutes until the whites are set and the yolks are runny (for sunny-side up) or flip them after 2 minutes to cook both sides (for over-easy).
    • Season with salt and pepper.

Serve:

  • Plate the eggs with the bacon strips. Add toast, hash browns, or fresh fruit on the side if desired.
